Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory
Graduate Summer School

Welcome to the site for the PPPL Graduate Summer School (GSS). We welcome students from a broad range of fields: magnetic fusion energy sciences, high energy density plasmas, astrophysics, low temperature plasmas, materials science, etc. As long as your research has a substantial intersection with plasma physics and you believe the topics covered in this course may be relevant to your research, you're welcome to apply. Applications for the 2019 GSS are closed. Stay tuned for GSS 2020 announcements!

Graduate Summer School Description

The 2019 school consists of 4 mini-courses of four 1.5 hour lectures each. The four topics - turbulence, low temperature plasmas, computational methods in plasma physics, and plasma diagnostics - were selected for their relevance to a wide range of sub-fields of plasma physics. The mini-courses are taught by PPPL scientists and collaborators (see Instructors below).

Participants were given a tour of PPPL. Participants also presented on their research (or on their group's research if they hadn't begun research themselves) at a poster session during the week or presented orally to the group. Additionally various opportunitites were given throughout the week to meet and interact with PPPL students and scientists with the purpose of promoting future collaborations.

Live Streaming

All of the mini-course lectures can be viewed live and, when available, the slides will also be accessible. Starting Monday, August 12th the lectures will be streamed below. The stream can also be found in the Media Central site. The mini-courses will be viewable afterwards in this site.
